You Just Want to Feel Like You Again
Therapy for Women in Davis County
You woke up this morning feeling sick to your stomach. The dream felt so real - like you were back with him. Laughing. Going to a concert. The kind of night you used to wish would last forever. But now? That same dream feels like a nightmare. You can't stop thinking about it.
You hate how much space he still takes up in your brain.
Even after everything he did - the yelling, the blaming, the watching you through your window - even after all of that, your brain still betrays you sometimes. You find yourself questioning your own strength. Wondering if you're overreacting. Wondering if you're just broken now.
Your friends don't get it. Your mom says things that cut too deep - like maybe you were the problem all along. And that just makes you want to stop talking about it altogether. It feels safer to shut down. To carry it on your own. But it's heavy. So, so heavy.
You've read about love bombing, about emotional abuse, about trauma - and it all hits hard. It makes you feel seen. But nothing seems to fix the way you still feel some days. Like a stranger to your own mind. Like you'll never trust anyone again. Like maybe love just isn't in the cards for you.
And while some days feel okay - hopeful even - other days feel like a complete 180. You think about breaking no contact just to hear his voice again. Even though you know better.
You're not crazy. You're not broken. You're someone who has been hurt. Deeply. And you deserve a space to heal.
You Are Not Alone
If you're a woman or teen, adult or a mom who's ever felt like your anxiety, trauma, or depression has isolated you from your own life - I want you to know there's hope.
I'm Brooke Howell, a therapist works with women and teens navigating big feelings, complex pasts, and deep hurts. I offer therapy for women in Weber & Davis County and surrounding areas like Roy, Utah. And my whole approach centers on one simple truth:
You are completely worthwhile and capable of change.
Unraveling the Mess in Your Mind - Together
Healing from emotional abuse and trauma isn't a linear path - and it sure as hell isn't something you have to figure out alone. In our work together, we'll gently start to unravel all of the noise in your head:
The flashbacks that hit you like a truck
The "maybe it was my fault" loop that plays nonstop
The craving for love from the person who hurt you most
The numbness. The panic. The nights you cry in the shower
You deserve a space where all of that can come up - without judgment, without shame. A space where you get to be the center of the story. And we'll check the facts together. Challenge the lies you've been told. Learn how to trust your gut again.
My Approach to Therapy (and Why It Feels Different)
My style is inclusive, compassionate, and patient - which means I meet you where you're at. I use a mix of existential and person-centered therapy (which just means we talk about your life, your values, your story - and how to reclaim it). I also integrate practical tools from CBT and DBT, like mindfulness and thought-checking.
You can expect a kind space. A real space. A space where you can say what's actually on your mind without needing to filter it.
Because sometimes, healing means saying things like:
"I think I hate men now, haha.
"Or "I don't know if I'll ever feel normal again.
"Or "I miss someone who hurt me - what's wrong with me?"
The answer? Nothing. There's nothing wrong with you.
This Is More Than Just Coping - It's Coming Home to Yourself
This work is not just about surviving the day or managing anxiety (although we'll do that too). It's about learning how to:
- Feel safe in your own body again
- Trust your decisions - and your voice
- Let go of what's not yours to carry
- Grieve who you were before the relationship - and who you're becoming now
Whether You're a Teen with Anxiety or a Woman Feeling Lost - You're Welcome Here
My practice includes teens and women who are tired of feeling broken, confused, or disconnected. Whether you're in high school trying to make sense of first love gone toxic, or you're in your 20s or 30s trying to break out of patterns that don't serve you - I see you.
Therapy for women in Davis County is about making space for you. The version of you who wants something more - even if you don't know what that looks like yet.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you work with teens and adults?
Yes! I specialize in working with teens and adult women navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, and relationship issues.
2. I'm still in contact with my ex. Can I still come to therapy?
Absolutely. Therapy is a space for honesty, not perfection. You don't need to be "over it" to begin healing.
3. Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
Currently, I offer in-person sessions in Clinton, UT, and may offer virtual sessions soon - just ask!
4. I've never been to therapy. What can I expect?
We'll start slow. The first session is all about getting to know you - no pressure, no expectations.
5. Is this confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is protected. Everything we talk about stays between us (with a few legal exceptions).
6. Do you take insurance?
As an associate therapist I work under supervision and may have sliding scale or reduced fees. Reach out to learn more.
7. What if I'm nervous or don't know what to say?
That's so normal. I create a space where you don't have to "perform" or "get it right." You can just show up.
8. What if my family doesn't support me being in therapy?
That's okay. You're still allowed to choose healing, even if others don't understand it yet.
9. I think I'm dealing with emotional abuse. Is that something you help with?
Yes. We can talk through the signs, patterns, and help you find safety and clarity.
10. How long does therapy usually take?
It depends on your goals - some clients come for a few months, others longer. We'll check in often and decide together.
