Kenya Kemp, CSW
"You deserve a space to just be — no pressure, no expectations — just the real you, seen and heard."
Hi, I’m Kenya.
If you’re feeling stuck in your head, exhausted from trying to “fix” things on your own, or constantly battling the thoughts that won’t let you rest — I want you to know you're not alone. Maybe anxiety feels like it’s running the show, or sadness has settled in and you can’t remember the last time you felt like yourself. Maybe you’re juggling school, relationships, or simply trying to keep it all together — and you’re tired. I get it.
I help people who are tired of carrying it all on their own. I specialize in working with women, college students, and anyone navigating stress, grief, relationship challenges, depression, or anxiety. My clients often describe feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, and unsure of how to move forward — and together, we find ways to shift that.
Therapy That’s Rooted in Curiosity, Compassion, and Connection
My therapy style is client-driven, friendly, and grounded in curiosity. I believe that healing starts when you feel truly seen and heard. I’m not here to “fix” you — because you’re not broken. My role is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can get curious about your patterns, reconnect with your values, and uncover the version of yourself that’s been there all along.
In our work together, you’ll get:
- A therapist who listens deeply and reflects what you share so you can hear it differently
- Tools and skills to help you manage the big feelings and hard days
- Space to talk through what’s really going on, without pressure or expectations
Whether you’re navigating a major life transition, grieving a loss, feeling anxious about everything and nothing, or just want to feel more like “you” again — you’re welcome here.
How I Work: Blending Mindfulness with Real-World Support
I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mind Body Bridging — approaches that help you move out of your racing thoughts and into your present life. I also pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing, depending on what’s most helpful for you.
I’m especially passionate about exploring the stories we tell ourselves — the ones that quietly shape how we think, feel, and act. Together, we can gently challenge the unhelpful narratives and create new ones that feel more true, more hopeful, and more aligned with who you really are.
A Little About Me
I’ve always been someone who others come to when they need to talk — it’s part of who I am. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in child protective services and later in community-based therapy settings like Ora Counseling, Balance Connection, and Family Services in Logan, UT. I’ve supported children, teens, college students, and adults through some of the most painful and meaningful seasons of their lives.
I’m a mom. I love walking outside, playing piano, crocheting, and even paragliding (yep — the whole jumping-off-a-mountain thing!). Humor is a big part of how I connect with people, and it often finds its way into the therapy room when it feels right.
I bring warmth, validation, and genuine engagement into every session. My clients describe me as friendly, curious, and present — and that’s exactly who I aim to be.
What I Want You to Know
You don’t have to figure everything out before starting therapy. You don’t have to be “sure” it’s going to help. You’re allowed to just try.
You’re allowed to take one step forward, even if you don’t know what the rest of the path looks like.
If you’re ready to explore what healing could look like for you, I’d love to connect.
